Janet Finna

Janet Finna is the database of the Jamk library. There you can find the material available for the customers of our library: printed books, e-books, journals, subject-specific databases, vocabularies etc. When doing information seeking you move a lot between different databases and sources, which can make the navigation challenging. You can use Janet Finna as your home base, where you can return in different stages of your studies.

With Janet Finna you can get to know and test out different search functions, and when you are logged in, you can make use of the extra features designed to help the user of the database. When you log in to Janet Finna with your Haka student account, you can renew your loans, make favourite lists of the found items as well as save search queries.

Finna.fi

The Finna database is maintained by the National Library of Finland and it gathers together information from several Finna-based university libraries, including from Jamk's Janet Finna. The user interface is similar to Janet Finna, but when you do searches, you are searching from all the Finna libraries. With one search you can see whether the material is available in some other library than the Jamk library.

Finna.fi is especially useful also when you are looking for theses from your own field. In Janet Finna you can find the theses done in Jamk, but in the Finna.fi you find the theses from all the Finnish universities: from Bachelor's theses up to doctoral dissertations. New theses are generally freely accessible online.

You can use your Haka account to log in to Finna.fi but note that electronic material licensed for Jamk (e-books, journal articles) can be accessed only via Janet Finna.
